Please read
- Personal information you provide (phone number, email address, address, etc.) will only be used by Kosaten to contact you in case something comes up.
- If you suddenly cannot come on the day, please be sure to contact us by phone or email: 080-7278-7815 (on days other than pantry days, we can only answer on Wednesdays and Sundays, 12:00–18:00) / [email protected]
- An email address is required to use this form. If you do not have one, please enter [email protected]. If you have one, enter your own address and the details of your reservation will be sent to you automatically. Otherwise, the organizers will send you a reminder email the day before. We will not contact you in any other way — thank you for your understanding.
What to bring
To carry your food home, please be sure to bring two large reusable bags (or a small suitcase), a bag for rice (a rice sack or Ziploc), and 3–4 plastic bags for vegetables!
Note: rice can no longer be provided from September 2026. Thank you for your understanding.
One pantry per month, one parcel per household
Apologies, but you may only use one pantry each month — you must decide between Kosaten or Hotaru. Also, a reservation covers one household, so multiple people from the same household cannot make separate reservations.
About cancellations
Once you have reserved a pantry you cannot swap to the other. If you decide to cancel your reservation, please inform us as soon as possible (there are always many people on the waiting list). If you do not contact us and do not turn up on the day, you may be asked to refrain from using the pantry the next month.
About the confirmation email
An email with the contents of your reservation will automatically be sent to the email address you entered on this form. If it does not arrive, the reservation may not have been completed, so please contact us. We will also send a reminder email the day before the pantry.
For those coming to Kosaten pantry by bicycle
Please do not park your bicycle in front of Kumon next door or along the public sidewalk. Please park it on the small path along the left side of the building.
About Kosaten
Kosaten is not a charity — it is a community space of individuals coming together to support each other. We have no income; everyone involved does so on a voluntary, unpaid basis, and we are only just able to cover the rent and utilities through contributions from some members. We want to work together in solidarity and care for our community connections. You can read more here: https://kosaten.org/kosatenthinking/

Things we want to respect at Kosaten
Please read what we care about at Kosaten, and what we ask everyone to respect at the pantry too: https://kosaten.org/no-labels/
Don’t presume someone’s identity
- Please do not judge people’s gender, nationality or language by how they look.
- Please check people’s pronouns before using them (he, she, they, ze, etc.).
- There is no need to ask “Where are you from?” or to say “Your Japanese is good.”
Let’s respect each other’s personal space
- Please do not make comments about people’s bodies or appearance.
- Please do not touch people without consent.
- Let’s avoid treating others in a patronizing way — especially people with disabilities or with a different first language.
- Some people don’t want to talk — please accept that.
- If you are here to promote your religion or business, you can go home.
Kosaten is a place made by everyone
- Kosaten is not a charity or a support group, and it is not a place of one-directional care. We want to create an environment of mutual care where we support each other.
- We all have a responsibility to stand up to and resist prejudice, discrimination and oppression. Let’s work together on this.
Things to confirm
- The pantry is for one household per reservation (more than one person from the same household cannot use the pantry).
- Only one pantry, either Hotaru or Kosaten, may be used. (You cannot use both in the same month.)
- Please arrive at your reserved time. (If you really have to change your reservation, please call us — we cannot respond to emails on the day.)
- If you cannot come to collect the food yourself and someone else will pick it up for you, please be sure to call us on the day: 080-7278-7815 (If that is difficult on the day, you may also call the Sunday before, 12:00–18:00.)
- If you cannot come, please be sure to contact us by 16:00 on the day of the pantry. Please contact us as soon as possible so that we can pass your place on to someone on the waiting list. If you do not contact us, you may be unable to use the pantry the next month.
- If you have already reserved by phone, you cannot reserve online as well. Also, you cannot reserve by phone after reserving online.
